Community Engagement

Fluent in both digital and physical community spaces, I understand how to use digital tools to bring people together.

Resolve Gala & Young Leaders Now Awards Dinner

About: Resolution Project’s two annual fundraising events that highlight the work of the organization through its global community of young social entrepreneurs and the leaders in social entrepreneurship that are paving a path for future generations.

Scope: Copywriter and manager for all communications and printed assets for these events. This included working across development team, programs team, and outside vendors to coordinate social media assets, email marketing campaigns, and awardee speeches. Printed materials included program booklets, menus, poster boards of case studies, and step-and-repeat photo background.

Results: Over $370k in revenue and 360+ guests at fundraising events. An opportunity for supporters to interact with the work of our Fellows through art installations and an electric environment for our global community of Fellows and supporters to gather in-person.

New American Dream: Town Halls on Disrupting Systemic Racism

About: A series of virtual panel discussions on the impact of white supremacy in America and ways to make the nation more accountable to its democratic ideals. The series examined systemic racism in relation to five pillars of contemporary society: voting rights, artificial intelligence and genetic science, Black journalism, White antiracism, and cultural narratives.

Scope: Copywriter and designer for promotional campaigns including webpages, social media, and broadcast assets. Moderated audience live chat.

Results: 35 thought leaders were gathered for the series as well as 11 partners included Brennan Center for Justice, The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and Common Cause New York.

Interference Archive: Internal Governance Workshop

About: The Interference Archive is a public archive based in Brooklyn that focuses on social movements in the 20th and 21st century. The organization is completely volunteer-run and has been operating for over 20 years.

I along with a few other volunteers participated in an Internal Governance Workshop to collaboratively build a more sustainable and equitable work structure for the archive.

Result: Transparent conversations about gender-bias in volunteer work. Led to the creation of new working groups including the Orientation Working Group, which focused on managing orientation education and processes.
